What is up with England? New laws coming in - if we do 15mph over the limit we get 6 points? People checking what we are downloading? Chavs ruling the streets? A knife crime every 24 minutes.

Why can't we sort it out? Oh, wait, we let everyone into our country.

I got out of England on a ferry in a car. No one asked to see my passport or anything, this was at one of the main ports in England.

Maybe the answer is, the Queen had a pink Ipod. Why doesn't she get a pink zune?

There are certain rules on breaches of privacy etc related to this, but basically it depends on how they got the information. If they go through the appropriate process of getting the information (from the ISP or the gateway which the data is being transferred via), you can be prosecuted without any breach of privacy laws.

If information is found via hacking, tapping into cable, reading emails via password breaching or other privacy related measures without a warrant, you can counter-sue and sometimes make a lot of money from it... other times you can totally fail against the worlds top lawyers and cost yourself over x20 the original fine (a women in America fought back recently in court with privacy laws etc.. but overall was beaten and proven guilty etc and was fined instead of like $5000 more like $100,000 or something - she now has a myspace pleading for people who still download to donate to her to help pay off the debt.. )

actually i read about that. she got fined $200,000 for sharing 24 songs on kazaa and the ariaa caught her, took her to caught and hence got the massive fine. because she lost everything, she made a site asking for donations so she could pay it off. if you wiki 'ariaa', it'll tell you more stories of people who were fined massively or illegally seeding warez
