Just got a ZUNE 80!!!!!

Obviously I'm the n0ob here. I just got a ZUNE 80 and I love it. Well the first 2 hours were frusterating as it wouldn't sync and had to call customer support. I was worried that it wasn't going to work and I would have to return for a new one. After going through all the tech stuff the only thing that needed to be done was restarting the computer after setting up software, ugh.

Okay, so I just got the zune. I probably wouldn't have gotten one but my roommate had bought an iPod 80 classic 3 weeks ago. I got a little jealous of it after I set it up and saw how cool it was. Not wanting the same thing I did a web search and found the zune 80, did comparisons and the zune was my obvious choice. I haven't had my zune long enough to do a real good comparison but as of now I believe I made the right choice. In fact my roommate is now jealous of the zune, which isn't what I was going for but the zune seems to be a much better buy.

I love my Zune, now I have to find a case for it.

Dude,
First off, good choice!
Zune 80 beats the Ipod 80 Classic to pulp.
I mean, you can wireless sync, share music/pictures with other zuners, become a part of the zune social network..etc etc..
The Zune Has ALOT of advantages over the iPod.

thanks everyone for the friendly welcome. The more I play with this thing the more I love it!!! And the more I play with the iPod the more lucky I feel that my roommate didn't get the zune and me end up with the iPod. I kind of feel bad for him. LOL

Today I went on the net and googled all the album covers that I need for the songs I have in my zune. Found my covers with no problem and attatched them where they belonged. I figured since my roommate was staying at his girlfriends tonight I'd surprise him by doing the same with his iPod. Guess what, you can't add the album covers without having an account with iTunes, which is rather difficult for him because he doesn't have a credit card. Just another downfall to having an iPod. That really sucks too because the cover flow feature in his iPod was really the only thing I that liked better. Unfortunately he can't put album covers on his iPod.

Sample 45, I like a lot of different kinds of music. Mainly rock though. Right now most everything in my zune is rock, heavy metal, and of course the zune music that came with it. But I like a lot of jazz and some old country songs. I've got to figure out how to put my other music on and have a way to play a mix of like maybe only rock when that is my mood, or only jazz when that is my mood, you know.

yeah dude... the zune sure floats my boat... its pretty to do what you mention. myself im a rock/heavy metal / hyphy music.

to each his own... glad to have you aboard.

Sample, just downloaded some Godsmack and Drowning Pool :o) I love the hard stuff as well.

Okay I decided to put video's on my Zune, a pretty easy thing and I pulled it off without a hitch. I showed my roommate the videos I put on my Zune, now he wants me to put Video on the iPod. Not so easy so far. The video's play for a few seconds and then stop. Not sure what the problem is but I was thinking it would sure be easier to download Zune software on the iPod lol I know it wouldn't work. This iPod sucks.

The iPod no longer shuts off, which means even when not in use it's running the battery down. Went to the iPod site to get instruction. Apparently there isn't any instruction for this trouble. They haven't figured out why some of them wont shut off, those that have one of these glitches in their iPod have to suffer until new software comes out to fix it, that is if they come out with something to fix it. It's Crap.

LOL!!! it's what you get for owning an ipod..and the ipod screen is too small to watch videos on so i dont see the point. hence, ever the more reason to love your zune =P
