Metal Gear Solid 4 is an awe-inspiring synthesis of dramatic storytelling and entertaining gameplay.



Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is a slick combination of gameplay, graphics and narrative. The lengthy cutscenes will come as no surprise to anyone who has played a Metal Gear game. Cinematics take up a good half of MGS4, but this does not mean gameplay takes a backseat. You can skip the cutscenes in this game, but doing so it softens the true experience of playing a Metal Gear game. Both gameplay and cutscenes are no longer rendered separately, they intertwine seamlessly throughout the game, both boasting what has been said to be the best graphics on the ps3 so far. The attention to detail in this game is amazing, from snake rubbing his sore back amidst a full on fight between the militia and PMC whilst unmanned units intercept and wipe out anything in their path, to the intelligent OctoCamo, a suit that reacts to the surroundings to blend in with the environment. A range of weapons are available to be laundered from their ID locks and customized, many items also can be found, from a digital camera to a packet of cigarettes. Another impressive thing in MGS4 is the bossfights; obviously with a lot of story to set the mood, they are demanding and ask for brain power not just plain shooting. I could go on for hours about this game and the many different features it boast but i dont want to spoil the fun for those who have not yet played this game.



MGS4 combines tecnically proficient graphics, intense gameplay and an in depth storyline that i hope one day to fully understand. Although from what i have said it seems this game is story heavy and basically an interactive 10 hour film, i can ensure you it is not. That is why this game is a great game, it keeps you in supsense and interest throughout, gives you a great conclusion but still leaves you wanting more.
I would say this is one of the best or the best games i have ever played, it kept me interested and shocked at the graphics and such well thought out story.

you cant put mgs up against gta completely different games really, but yeah they are probably the best two games out for the ps3

i would say its better than GTA IV, but like callum said they are not really the sort of games you can compare.
Snake does take meds but not cause he is old (well its actually a supressant to calm the nanomachine activity in his body which are ampilfying the effects of the mutated form of the FOXDIE virus in his bloodstream) - but thats complicated like all things in metal gear.

Incredible game. I played it right after it shipped for release (friend at a Sony Agent here)
anyway I am considering buying a PS3 cause of this. If God of War 3 gets confirmed and a release date then I am getting PS3 for sure.
