The 1.90 Firmware update just hit Japanese PS3s. Here are the features:


? Ability to rearrange games on the XMB
? Option menu now includes "eject disk"
? Press triangle to eject games/CDs/movies in the XMB
? XMB backgrounds --- Ultimate PS3 Wallpaper Guide! (Click Here)
? Change the folder classification
? Emoticons
? Change CD output to 44.1/88.2/176.4kHz
? Force 24Hz output for Blu-ray over HDMI
? Change PS3 video settings in-game
? "Bit Mapping" in the "Music Setting"
? Save AVCHD type animations from a Memory Stick
? Change settings like upscaling while playing PS and PS2 games
? Add bookmarks
? Web browser security function in the browser's tool section
? Avatar moves during audio visual chat

Also,
Sony have today confirmed that a Heavenly Sword demo will hit the Playstation Network this Thursday. Heavenly Sword is the first truly epic game to be released for the Playstation 3 and is scheduled to hit the stores very soon.

Heavenly Sword received a good reception at E3 and is therefore being billed as a game every Playstation owner must have, whether this turns out to be true we will have to see, however the demo should give us a good taste of what to expect.

yh - it was a reasonably good update actually - the wallpapers really lets you spruce up the boring wavey xmb background lol, 2.00 update soon - XMB access whilst in game (will post details soon)

rumour no more - they said on the radio that XMB access will be added on a future update also a release of digital tv tuner addon so you can record and watch and pause digital TV

Digital TV Addon is over the top. Its more money on an already bank breaking console. Its just turning into a oversized Home Theatre PC Now and its silly. It would be better to have built in freeview recording and pausing,. thatd be more worthwhile, because its minimal addon and good for people who use a PS3 where they dont have SKY or Cable.
