US, October 9, 2007 - Coinciding with today's announcement of the 40 Gigabyte PS3 for the Japanese market, Sony Japan has announced final Japanese release details for the Dual Shock 3.

The rumble-equipped controller will be released on 11/11, the same day as the Ceramic White and Clear Black 40 Gig PS3 systems. Available in Black (model CECHZC2J) and Ceramic White (CECHZC2J CW) varities, the controller will carry a price of 5,500 yen, approximately 500 yen above the current SIXAXIS controller.

Those wanting rumble from their PS3 will have to purchase the Dual Shock 3 separately. The new 40 Gig unit will include include a controller, but it will be just a standard shake-free SIXAXIS.

The Dual Shock 3 is expected outside of Japan early next year."
