Computer restarts as soon as zune plugged in

I have a strange problem that just started happening. I've had my zune for about 4 or 5 months and have never had any problems. Just yesterday I plugged in my zune, and my laptop restarted by itself. I thought it was strange, so i tired a different usb port, I put a couple songs on it, and it didn't happen again. I plugged it in today and now my laptop restarts every time I plug it in, and will make it into windows for about 30 seconds and restart again. What the heck is going on?

Now, i'm not really sure about this, so i'm gonna have to ask a question.

Have you recently installed or updates any new drivers?

Nope, no updates recently. After the computer restarts, I get a message from windows that says "The system has recovered from a serious error". Computer runs well and has no viruses or anything. I keep the laptop in good running order. Would it be recommended to re-install the zune software?

I uninstalled the zune software, and reinstalled it from zune.com. The computer hasn't restarted by itself yet, so that problem seems to be gone I hope, but the zune software will not recognize my zune and I cannot add or remove anything from it.

I decided to try running the battery down. After it was dead, I plugged it into the laptop and it found it. Seems to be working now, added pics and songs so all is good.
