Can't install zune software

Ok, so I just got my zune today (yay!) and I downloaded the software from the MS zune site. Well everything was going fine, but an error code came up while it was "checking for updates" saying that it could not connect to the microsoft updates site. My internet connection is fine, I have DSL, so I'm not sure why it isn't working.

I'm going to try and install the program from the CD, but I'm not sure if it'll work. It's a zune 30 btw.

Does the zune need to be connected to the computer while installing? Because it isn't connected right now.

I have also tried SZIPV2 which did not work.

Disabled Firewall worked like a charm

Another question. Does updating the firmware usually take a long time? Because it's been about 5-10 minutes and my zune is upgrading from versio 1.0 to 2.3, so like is it normal for it to take a while?

Hmm. How fast is your internet connection?
It can take a while depending on the processor.
It took around ten minutes on my laptop core 2 duo. It took around half an hour on my other PC 1.7 Ghz P4.
