Battery Life
Im just wondering, what steps can I take to make sure I get the maximum battery life of my zune? I plan to be taking it on long trips a lot so obviously its important that it lasts as long as possible.

Make sure to set the display light to turn off every 1 second so basically its not on when you aren't using it. Keep your wireless off. And err..don't leave the music playing if you aren't listening, duh.
You know how to turn the Zune off, don't you?(<- and Down hold for 5 seconds). |

Replace the old battery with a new better one, that will surely make your Zune live longer
![]() Or you can buy a portable charger that uses AA batterys or solar cells.

I think by long trips he means journeys/traveling, so a wall charger wouldn't work, does anyone know if there is a in car charger? this is presuming that he's going by car,
Also another thing to add what the other guys said, before you go completely drain your Zune of all battery then charge it up fully, apparently it helps with battery life

There is a Car Pack for the Zune with Dock and everything if you are thinking about going in a car. Or else the Solar Cells are my favorite
Its kind to the planet and are a cool way to fill your Zune with delicious power! [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Hey guys sorry for late reply, been having net trouble. Thanks for all the advice. I dont have a car, I travel by train and bus a lot. In a few weeks Ive got a very long journey (six hours each way) for a football match, a battery powered charger would be ideal.

I don't knowabout you 2nd Gen people, but my 1st gen last through when I sleep..(accidentally..) I never have really tested it to see exactly how long it plays, but I know it'll last about 2 hours if you're watcing a 2 hour movie. about 30 minutes of video = 1/4 battery.
So as long as you aren't watching movies, you're zune should make it through the first leg in the trip.. maybe halfway back? and 6 hours is very long to you? I travel 20 hours up to WI every year! gahh, 6 hours would be great.. |
