The C00D124F Nightmare.

This is my worst experience with a gadget:

I live in Panama and i got my zune80 via friend (he got it from bestbuy). There is no way i can return it due to geographic dificulties.

In the first day i got a "error, zune must erase all content", (probably because i updated it to 2.5, but the error appeared after i used it for few hours) i restarted, same error. Then i tired both normal formal and full format, after the full format, it asks me to connect my zune to install the firmware, i connected it, and the C00D124F appeared. "No enough space in your device". wtf, i reserved a 5% and there is like 12gb left.

Then i did the followings:

1. fully re-formatted the zune at least 15 times.

2. re-installed the zune software at least 5 times.

3. the registry trick to make it appear on my computer.

4. none of the above worked.

5. i didn't try the smash method.

The C00D124F keeps appearing, no matter what i do. My zune is completly useless, same as costumer support. Where is their email? all they have is this forum with no moderator and let people help each other when they all having problems?

Then I called:

me: hi, i got a 80gb zune from bestbuy, now i got it broken. tried everything but wont work . (I explained lot more than this)

tech support guy: can you return it it to best buy?

me: no, i cant.

tech support guy: do you live in the us sir?

me: uhm, no.

tech support guy: sorry sir, we cannot give you support since there is no special repair department for your country. (more useless bs)

(I hanged up with tears in my eyes.)

Before trying to help me please know:

1. i tried all 3 types of reset.

2. I charged the battery 100%

3. I tried in both vista sp1 and xp sp2.

4. my zune software is up to date.

5. it had a 2.5 FW.

6. i have readed every single article/forum available in the 3 pages of google search. None of them are usefull. All i get as response is "have you tried to reset your zune?". Please note Im not a moron and i did my researches before coming to this forum asking for help.

7. I tried the zSuite but it will noly work if the zune has a firmware and can be sync with the computer. My zune now has no firmware and i cant install it due to the C00d124F.

Looks like a bricked Zune.. the only thing i can think of is to send it to somewhere like RapidRepair and see if they can get it working for you, its nothing hardware based thats not working... just unluckyness and gayness of computers.

I feel very sorry for you my friend, i've had my Zune 80 in the UK since easter, and have yet to put my full library of music on it..
