Zune Software Customizer Version 3.1.0

Sorry for the huge delay. As some of you know I went on a long trip to Italy and have been MIA since. Well I got engaged on my trip and have been pretty busy with all the stuff that comes along with that since. Not to mention the fact that my Zune is currently out of commission, I am receiving USB Device Not Recognized errors. This led to me having less interest in putting out an update. Anyways on to the stuff you care about, a version of the Customizer that works with the new Zune Software:

Just a note before I start, because of the way I handled the custom colors last release, it will have remembered all your settings, so if you left it off on the Dark Zune Theme it will go back to that or if you left it off with DarkGray being red it'll go back to that, etc.


Changes:

• Added an option to set the Pink Color value and made the defaults for the two Dark Themes.
• Created some images to better suit the Dark Themes
  • Brand Tag (the stupid box up by the top left)
  • Default Profile Image
  • Slider images
  • Mute buttons
  • Info Bubbles (for example see MixView mouseovers)
  • Now Playing Images updated
  • Dark Zune Theme Search Images updated
  • Left Arrow image in the settings menu

As always any feature requests, comments, etc are welcome. Also didn't know if I should start this as a new thread or just add on to the old one, but I figured this would be better. If I was wrong please merge this with the other thread. Thanks.

Hi there,

This is odd. I installed the software customizer to my zune directory and nothing happens. I have vista, followed the exact directions and nothing happens. Tried creating another folder, tried moving the files in the same directory as the zune dlls etc...nothing. I don't see the display options with the customizer is supposed to display.

Help! Not sure what to do now.

Yea so I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and nothing happens.

So just to clarify.

Most of my program files are on C drive right.

I put Zune on my D drive with my other LARGE programs like WOW etc. My music is also on D drive. I figured put the Zune software on the same harddrive as my music.

I am putting the zune customizer software on D where my zune software is. I don't know if that is an issue or not.

Also I read on his site, that the link is 3.1.0 when you right click on it it says that in the notes. However when you go to Control Panel> Programs and features it says Zune Customizer 2.5?? I am clicking the right link and even the file says 3.1.0. I guess the name of the software accidently says 2.5?

I also did the right mouse run as admin type of thing.

Also on vista once the install is done. You can click run the program now, or uncheck and not run it right away. I have tried both and not a change. Still dont see it on my Zune software.

Also when I do click run, I see a little black DOS window open and close really fast.

I am not sure where to go from here other than maybe Disabling User Account Control and seeing what happens.

I am running vista ultimate 32 Bit. Don't know where to go from here other than waiting.

Okay I got it working now. Apparantly it was making a new folder example:

D:/Zune/Zune

Than saying the folder Zune already exists overwrite?? I say yes, nothing happens.

So I went into that folder. Copied all the files, than pasted them in the MAIN zune folder.

D:/Zune

It asked me if I wanted to over-write a file and I said yes twice and it worked.

Question. So now that things are working. The only thing I can't seem to get to change is the Artist name on the main zune page of my music collection.

The artists names are all orange. I can change everything accept that one thing! The hover text changes when you mouseover albums. But when they are not moused over the text is orange. Any ideas?

Hi I am new to this site and fourm. Please have patience with my questions. I girl friend just got a zune 4gig. I wont to load software to allow her to download from WMP 11 or be able to allow XP to recognize her zune as a removable hard drive. I would love to get instruction on how to use the software that would allow me to do this.

i see no one has posted in this thread for a while, but i'm having a problem. when i have the software customizer installed the zune software shuts down every time i connect my zune. as long as the customizer is uninstalled everything works fine. i can install the customizer, and i can customize the software after doing so. but as soon as i connect my zune with the software installed i get the message "microsoft zune has stopped working.
i am running vista home premium 64.
i would appreciate any help you can give.
