This is the thread that will be submitted to Microsoft eventually once we have enough names,
The title is enough to explain what it's for,
Please use the new "thanks" function to list your name in the petition.
(You can post if you feel like it as well)
Just list your name and maybe a comment if you feel like it, you could even express your views on what you'd like to see.. the possibilites etc.
Lets aim for 2,500+ signatures.. hopefully 3,000.

Custom Firmware FTW!..
I dont want some overrated idea of custom firmware, but a little freedom of new stuff would be nice.
I love how MS have implemented custom games, this'll totally open up the room for improvements, but why not let us custom code other features, applications, a clock on the whole device, not a game, other wi--fi features (not games, but sending zune cards), lets send zunecards as graphics, maybe a "now playing" section like the software on the zune, with an album grid..
The possibilites are almost endless (i am sure the word phone justifies that), but it'd be great to see some response from microsoft about this.
Custom Firmware doesnt meen Linux on Zune, in my eyes, i want to add, not replace or take away. The firmwares great.. but let users get involved, join the social, make the social, share the social. | |

Yeah, i think what would be awesome is being able to do simple things i.e. font change.
It'd be really cool though if they made it really complex though like adding new categories and stuff,
Maybe even be able to change the main menu to certain things,
Like have:
music
videos etc etc
But then if you use something like a game or app tons then you could have a shortcut on the main menu

Yeah, I think that a customisable software would definately be huge advantage over other PMP's wih their generic software *apple* and could sway the balance when it comes to people torn between which PMP to buy. I mean the Zune motto-thingy is "You make it you" but we can't really make it totally "us" because we cant change/mod anything within the software. So, yeah, custom software would be an awesome feature to an already great product. Fingers crossed... | |

Yeah that'd make sense if you change every 'software' to 'firmware' since this is the petition for custom firmware 
We have sable's customizer for the software,
