Syncing a used Zune to a new computer?

Hey, I'm buying my first Zune used (dangerous, I know), and before I buy it I want to know if I'll be able to sync the Zune to the zune software I've downloaded to my computer (as opposed to the software/computer the guy I'm buying from has). I know that some MP3 players only let you sync with ONE computer and the software on that.
If I can't freely sync it to my computer, what to I need to make sure I get from the guy so I can?
I'm sorry if this is confusing, I don't know the technical terms for any of this...
