For those of you who have problems with upgrading to the new Zune Software, dont like the new Software or cant update to the new v2.2 Firmware without a previous firmware this is the tutorial for you.

Here are the Files you will need:

1. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

3. Java Runtime 6 (latest version)

Zune Software Install

Ok, first uninstall the Zune Software or do a system restore to before it was installed.

Now you need to open the Zune Software 1.3 which you have downloaded and follow the steps through.

Once it asks to connect to the internet to search for updates you need to quickly open Command Prompt

(via Start --> Run --> CMD)

Now type in the command:

PING go.microsoft.com

Press enter to execute the command, make sure the Installer is still searching for updates or has only just started searching for the updates when you execute this.

Hopefully while command prompt executes the command the Zune Installer should say that there are no updates and you can continue Installation.
